"Home Alone": My Favorite Christmas Movie of All Time

Author: Joyce Mccall

I remember so well when the original “Home Alone” movie first came out. My children were in elementary school and we all went to see it at the theater as a family. We enjoyed it so much, we later bought the video which has since, of course, become obsolete. Through the years however, we have continued the tradition of watching it together, even though my children are 27, 26, and 24 years old. We now have grandchildren who watch it with us as well. I always keep an eye out on the advertised television listings for our direct t.v. company to see when it’s coming on. It usually starts airing around the weekend after Thanksgiving, which works out well since everyone is home for the holiday. I think the things that make this my favorite is all the snow and the great decorations. The house just has such a “homey” feel and Kevin, the main character, is so cunning in how he gets the bad guys to fall for all his tricks. It’s funny, entertaining, has great Christmas music, and a great message about the importance of being together as a family during the holidays. I can just hear the music from the movie and so many memories of Christmases past come rushing back–it is most definitely my all-time favorite.
